The state of Brandenburg offers telemedia with the LGB (State office for Land Surveying and Geoinformation Brandenburg) according to the German Telemedia Act (Telemediengesetz – TMG). The LGB is committed to follow the regulations of the TMG in its current valid version. In addition, the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), the German Federal Data Protection Act (Bundesdatenschutzgesetz – BDSG) and the Data Protection Law of the State of Brandenburg (Bestimmungen des Brandenburgischen Datenschutzgesetzes – BbgDSG) are also applied in their current valid version.
Customer Data Management
The decision is yours whether you give us your personal data, for example by sending us an email. Your personal information will be stored electronically on protected servers in Germany and processed in accordance with the Data Protection Law of the State of Brandenburg. Access to the servers is only possible for a few authorized persons who are responsible for their technical support.
Data is essential for us to provide excellent service. But our most important asset is the trust of our customers. Protecting customer data and using it only as our customers expect from us is our top priority. We ensure that the data protection regulations are in both technical and organizational perspective respected. It is also important to us that you always know when we save which data and how we use them. Your visit to our website will be logged. Each time an Internet file is requested, the following access files are temporarily logged in the LGB:
- the site from which the file was requested
- the name of the file accessed
- the date and time of the request
- the amount of data transferred
- the access status (file transferred, file not found, etc.)
- the description of the type of browser used or the operating system
Saved data will be
- evaluated for statistical purposes
- stored for the processing of contractual relations
- used to provide products
- used to optimize and secure our website
- used to receive messages (email to us).
We do not use your data for the purpose of direct advertising or to create profiles. In the case of enquiries sent by email, the information is only used to process the request. No email addresses are passed on to third parties or used by us in any other way.
We delete your personal data as soon as it is no longer required for the purposes mentioned above. It is possible that personal data is stored for the time in which claims can be asserted towards our state operations (e.g. statutory limitation period of three or up to thirty years). We also store your personal data insofar as we are legally obliged to do so.
Corresponding evidence and storage obligations result from the Commercial Code, the Tax Code and the Money Laundering Act, among others. The storage periods are then up to ten years.
The use of the Geoportal Brandenburg is generally possible without disclosing personal data. Personal data can be defined as detailed information about personal or material circumstances of a specific or identifiable individual.
The Geoportal Brandenburg allows users to log in (Registration). This provides an extended range of functions. These possibilities include saving search queries, saving user-specific settings of any map combinations and editing the integrated Wiki.
The following data is recorder during the registration:
- User name,
- Email address
Your login data (user name, password and email adress) are saved in an internal database. The username and email address are saved unencrypted. They are subject to data protection and will not be passed on to third parties.
Keeping data confidential
The employees of the LGB which are entrusted with the processing of personal data as well as the employees of companies commissioned by the LGB are obligated to maintain data confidential. Technical and organisational measures have been taken to ensure that data protection regulations are also respected by external service providers. For these reasons, it is not possible to pass on personal data to third parties.
Statistical evaluations with Matomo
This website uses Matomo, an open source software for statistical analysis of visitor access. Matomo uses so-called "cookies", text files that are stored on your computer and that enable your use of the website to be analyzed. The information generated by the cookie about your use of this website is stored on the provider's server in Germany. The IP address is anonymized immediately after processing and before it is saved. You can prevent the installation of cookies by setting your browser software accordingly; however, we would like to point out that in this case you may not be able to use all functions of this website to their full extent. To secure your data, we use SSL (HTTPS) as an encryption technology for data transmission.
Please note that your message to us via e-mail is not automatically encrypted. We would like to point out that, without encryption, the possibility of third parties reading messages cannot be excluded. If it is indicated by your email that you require a response from us, you will receive our answer as an unencrypted email. We will use encryption if our response requires encryption based on its content.
Rights to information, rectification, blocking, deletion and objection
You have the right to receive information about your personal data stored by us at all times. You also have the right to correct, block or delete your personal data except for the data required for storage in business transactions. Please contact our data protection officer. To ensure that data can be blocked at any time, this data must be kept in a block file for control purposes. You can also request the deletion of the data, unless there is a legal archiving obligation. If there is such an obligation, we will block your data on request. You can make changes or withdraw your consent by notifying us accordingly with effect for the future.
